There has been a case of a surge in reports of cases of child smuggling between Zimbabwe and South Africa, at least 150 children have been intercepted this year.
Dozens of children are being held in youth care centres in Limpopo as officials try to locate their families.
The state-run Herald says most of the children were intercepted in January.
These are very often children travelling to visit parents working legally or illegally in South Africa, especially in Gauteng.
The report says many of the children get picked up during the school holidays.
Most of them are believed to come from southern areas of Zimbabwe like Bulawayo or Chiredzi, close to the border.
The state newspaper says when officials find people trying to smuggle children through the border they impound their vehicles and take them to court.
